Long-term support for Ukraine is vital

Four years after Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre is visiting Kyiv to reaffirm Norway’s unwavering support for Ukraine’s fight for freedom. He took the opportunity to announce how Norway’s military support for Ukraine in 2026 is to be used. Some NOK 12 billion, the single largest allocation, will be used to procure drones and autonomous systems for Ukraine.

Prime Ministers of Norway and Poland visit Norwegian and Ukrainian soldiers at Camp Jomsborg

Today, Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre and Prime Minister of Poland Donald Tusk visited Camp Jomsborg in Poland. Ukrainian soldiers are receiving training and equipment at the camp before being deployed to the front line. Instructors from the Nordic and Baltic countries are providing the training in Poland.

'Whereas in the past, the US was the leading proponent of rules-based international trade, tariffs are now being widely used. They are being introduced and used – against Allies as well – not only as trade measures, but also as a tool to elicit concessions in completely unrelated areas,' said Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre.
